John Luce

The prior owners of the property on South Kingston – a 28-unit mixed use building in South Chicago – had accumulated significant amounts of unpaid taxes and utilities on the property, and all of the residential units were vacant. John Luce purchased and substantially rehabbed this property with a first mortgage from CIC and a second mortgage from DOH. He also sought out and utilized experienced management staff to rent the units. Once a problem- and crime-ridden building, it is now considered a community asset.
