The Basics of Residential Property Management. This foundational course provides landlords with the knowledge to better market, manage, and maintain a residential rental property.

Topics covered Marketing, fair housing, the Chicago landlord/tenant ordinance, eviction laws, nuisance abatement, real estate tax issues, maintenance, and budgeting.

Industry Standards All standard workshops comply with many lender training requirements for purchasers of two or more units. Standard workshops meet the certificate requirements of the following lenders:

- Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Many CIC Partner Banks

Workshop Policies
All CIC workshops are intended for informational purposes only, and should not be used as a substitute for tax, accounting, investment, legal or other professional advice.
Workshops are offered at various locations throughout the Chicago region. Class times and dates are subject to change at any time.
Pre-registration is required, no walk-in registrations
Advanced payment is required. Credit card payment is accepted via PayPal at the time of registration. You may also submit a check or money order by mail to 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 380 (Attn: PMT Registration), Chicago, IL 60606.
Workshops with less than 10 registered attendees may be rescheduled or canceled.
If an attendee is a “no show” for a class, no refund shall be provided, and the student forfeits their registration fee. No refunds shall be provided once a class has begun.
