CIC Scholarship for Future Leaders in Neighborhood Housing
In partnership with the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University, CIC offers a graduate-level scholarship to invest in the next generation of Chicago’s multifamily housing leaders.
The scholarship was established in 2025 to provide support for Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate graduate students who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing a career in Chicago’s housing and community development industry.
Funded by a portion of CIC’s 2024 MacKenzie Scott grant, the scholarship will provide a one-year award of $10,000, covering tuition and fees at $5,000 per semester. Scholarship may be renewable, upon re-application, for a total of up to five semesters.
In addition to financial support, the recipient will also be invited to shadow CIC staff in an area of particular interest – such as lending, asset management or property redevelopment – during the academic year.

- Applications reviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee by July 30
- Scholarship recipient notified by August 22
