COMMUNITY INVESTMENT CORPORATION NAMED TO CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS BEST PLACES TO WORK 2025
Recognition highlights CIC’s strong workplace culture and its role in expanding affordable housing solutions
CHICAGO — Community Investment Corporation (CIC), a Chicago non-profit lender that finances the acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation of affordable rental housing, is proud to announce it has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business Best Places to Work in Chicago 2025, which celebrates organizations that set the standard for workplace excellence across the region. This achievement highlights CIC’s commitment to fostering a positive culture and empowering employees to advance our mission of preserving and expanding affordable housing opportunities across Chicago’s neighborhoods.
Over 90% of staff participated in the confidential and optional survey, and CIC earned a 96% satisfaction rating based on staff feedback. The recognition follows a rigorous two-part assessment conducted by Workforce Research Group. Employers submitted detailed information on policies, benefits, and practices, while employees completed a confidential 77-question survey measuring workplace experience and culture. Employee feedback represented 80% of the final score.
“We are honored to be named one of Crain’s Best Places to Work in Chicago 2025,” said Stacie Young, President and CEO of Community Investment Corporation. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our team, whose passion and commitment drive our mission of providing affordable rental housing across Chicagoland. Creating a supportive workplace culture goes hand-in-hand with serving our residents—when our employees thrive, so do the communities we serve.”
The program was open to for-profit and nonprofit organizations with at least 25 employees in the seven-county Chicago area. Based on this rigorous evaluation, Crain’s recognized the companies that best foster strong workplace cultures, prioritize employee well-being, and create environments where people thrive.
